HR Support Specialist
PotomacWave is looking for an HR Support Specialist to join our team supporting a Federal client in Washington, DC. This position will provide high-level human resources (HR), recruitment, and program management support to ensure the effective execution of division talent initiatives, operational support to management regarding recruiting activities, track key hiring actions, and assist in annual recruitment and talent management cycle aligned with division priorities. This role will process human capital incentive requests in accordance with federal guidelines, participate in career engagements, and support the various internship programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational HR support with day-to-day recruitment program management activities, including tracking hiring actions, and preparing recruitment status briefings and reports.
- Serve as an operational liaison on behalf of IN’s recruitment leadership with internal hiring managers, HC and external partners, to resolve operational bottlenecks, address recruitment discrepancies, and communicate program guidance and timelines.
- Assist hiring managers and selection panels through candidate review, interview scheduling, and selection phases.
- Coordinate and process Human Capital (HC) incentive requests.
- Guide hiring managers and division POCs on required documentation, justification criteria, and service agreement templates in compliance with DOE and federal guidelines.
- Review incentive packages for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with budgetary allocations prior to routing for leadership endorsement.
- Monitor the end-to-end routing and approval workflow across IN leadership and the Human Capital (HC).
- Establish and maintain an internal tracking ledger of all active, approved, and disbursed incentives, service agreements, and renewal timelines.
- Represent the recruitment team at in-person and virtual recruitment fairs, career expos, campus outreach events, and industry hiring conferences.
- Manage event logistics, including registration, booth setup, material distribution, and collateral display.
- Engage prospective candidates to communicate IN mission areas, career paths, eligibility requirements, and security clearance processes.
- Review HR related policies and procedures to provide guidance to management and employees.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in a Human Resource or business-related field required.
- Ten (10) years of directly related experience performing Human Resources/administrative support functions specialized within the U.S. Government intelligence/counterintelligence, military, or similar communities.
- Highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in word processing, project management, automated data processing capabilities, and desktop publishing application software and hardware, including Microsoft Office applications.
- The selection of an individual for this position may be conditioned upon his or her successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
- Must have an active DOE Q or Top-Secret clearance.
