PotomacWave is seeking a Data/Configuration Management Specialist to join our team supporting a Federal client in Frederick, MD. This position will provide the governance and systems engineering processes to track and control IT resources and services across the enterprise, while maintaining the consistency of functional, performance, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information. This role requires a strong blend of technical, analytical, and project management skills, emphasizing the interconnectedness of systems engineering and data/configuration management.

Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Analysis
    • Gather and analyze user and stakeholder requirements to define system specifications.
    • Document data management requirements in alignment with system needs.
  • System Design and Architecture
    • Design system architecture and components, ensuring they meet both functional and data management requirements.
    • Utilize modeling tools to visualize system interactions, configurations, and data flows.
  • Data Management
    • Collect, organize, and maintain data related to system performance and configurations.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular audits and validations.
  • Configuration Management
    • Establish and maintain configuration management processes for systems and software.
    • Track and document configuration items (CIs), version control, and changes.
  • Integration and Testing
    • Integrate various subsystems and ensure they operate cohesively.
    • Develop and execute test plans to validate both system performance and data integrity against requirements.
  • Monitoring and Reporting
    • Monitor system performance, configurations, and data quality to ensure compliance with standards.
    • Generate reports on system status, configuration changes, and data quality metrics.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify potential risks related to system performance and data integrity and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Conduct risk assessments in line with industry standards.
  • Documentation
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system designs, configuration management plans, and data management procedures.
    • Ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with cross functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and quality assurance teams.
    • Facilitate communication among stakeholders to align goals related to systems and data management.
  • Maintenance and Support
    • Develop and implement maintenance plans for systems, ensuring data and configurations are regularly reviewed and updated.
    • Provide technical support for troubleshooting system and data issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five 5 years of professional experience and at least 3 years supporting IT or related disciplines.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to perform under tight deadlines in a team setting.
  • Experience with CMPRO Product Lifecycle Management Software or similar a plus, but not required
  • Must have a Public Trust clearance or be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining a Public Trust clearance
Salary range $80,000 - $105,000
