PotomacWave is looking for a Communications Consultant to join our team supporting a Federal client in Washington, DC! This team is currently working remotely and will be until further notice. Our team provides program management support in a fast-paced environment. A successful candidate will have great organization skills, be able to prioritize, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support stakeholder communications, leadership messaging, reporting, and toolkits.
- Support scheduling meetings including development of presentations, outreach materials, coordinating logistics, and capture meeting minutes and action items; distributing action items to participants; and documenting resolution of action items.
- Develop communication materials and other outreach materials.
- Coordinate media inquiries, including drafting responses, and maintaining and distributing tracking and repository tools.
- Facilitate and coordinate planning activities in support of Senior Leadership executive communications including speaking engagements, stakeholder engagements, and implementation activities.
- Coordinate and develop communications materials, including leadership messaging, presentation materials, talking points, and web page enhancements.
- Track, document, and report on operational activities and accomplishments on a weekly basis.
- Develop strategies, tools, resources, processes, materials and make enhancements to the internal office documents that will enable the office to operate more effectively and efficiently.
- Provide planning, organization, process development, and implementation support.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Coordinate multiple activities where input is required from multiple groups and organizations such as planning and coordinating communications activities, writing standard operating procedures, and assisting with media engagements.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience in communications, federal consulting, or related industry
- BS/BA Degree from an Accredited University
- Strong familiarity with complete MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Familiarity with FEMA and/or other Government agencies' communications and media relations is a plus
- MS Skills including building out ways to present data through tables and graphs and to utilize Excel for basic calculations
- Ability to maintain courteous, cooperative working relationships with senior level officials and executives inside and outside the agency
- Excellent written and verbal skill in expressing ideas, policies, and technical issues orally and in writing
- Strong teamwork skills with flexibility working with diverse personalities
- Ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment, with competing priorities
- Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a Public Trust government clearance.
